About the role:
We’re looking for friendly, sensitive and proactive people to volunteer in our Welcome centre in Weston-super-Mare and at our ‘pop-up’ welcome centres elsewhere in North Somerset.
If you love meeting people and want to help welcome refugees to the local area in a safe and supportive space, this could be the role for you.

Your role might include:
- Setting up rooms for guests by moving tables and chairs to make the space welcoming
- Greeting people at the door
- Making sure guests and volunteers are all marked on the register
- Looking after the kitchen, offering people drinks and snacks, and making sure the kitchen area is kept clean and tidy
- Chatting with guests and sharing food
- Practicing English with guests
- Answering questions about issues guests have had, such as filling in forms or making appointments
