Winter clothes appeal
Share the warmth this winter by donating winter items to people in need in North Somerset.
Refugees Welcome North Somerset is collecting donations on behalf of refugees and asylum seekers who recently arrived in local Home Office accommodation. Most just have the clothes they are wearing and are not equipped for a British winter.
We need your, your friends, colleagues and families’ help. Please look through your drawers, cupboards and wardrobes for winter items you no longer wear or need. Spread the word and encourage others you know to donate too.
As well as warm, waterproof coats and shoes, people are in need of new underwear, bags and mobile phones.
Here’s the full list of requested items:
- Men’s waterproof boots, shoes or trainers (sizes 41-45)
- Men’s warm coats (S-M)
- Men’s jumpers (S-M)
- Winter hats, scarves and socks
- Clean, new underwear (S-M)
- Small backpacks
- Unlocked phones and chargers, to help people get around and keep in touch
Once you’ve collected your items together, please drop them to us:
Date: Saturday 28 January
Time: 10am-2pm
Place: Harbour Court, Serbert Road, Portishead, BRISTOL, BS20 7GF
This is a large warehouse building tucked away behind the Busy Bees nursery, fairly easy to find and within walking distance of the nearby Sainsbury’s. There is free on-site parking. The entrance we use is on the side of the building with the car park.
If you don’t have any items to give, you can also donate cash which will be used to buy any more needed items:
